Add your two cents by signing up at Threadless with your name, email address and birth date. Then rate T-shirt design submissions from 0 (worst) to 5 (best) and leave an appreciative or critical comment. Only four to six designs are chosen every week to be printed and sold on the site at around $15 for a men’s tee. Threadless designers pride themselves in clever, funny and original designs, such as Jaco Haasbroek’s “down with CAPITALISM” t-shirt (below). The kids’ version of this t-shirt sells for $17. “Type Tees” which bear the best-rated slogans submitted to the site, usually sell for a few dollars less. Shipping varies with UPS. Threadless also sells gift certificates and offers a T-shirt-a-month subscription ($200 annually).

Unique to the Zazzle site is the ability to customize branded collections such as Disney, Star Wars and Barbie.
